Reggie Jackson will be in 'Damn Yankees' with Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Gyllenhaal

New York City's Roundabout Theatre Company recently announced a benefit concert staging of the 1955 musical "Damn Yankees." While it's always fun to see musicals about baseball, it's even more fun when they feature an actual baseball player.
No, it isn't noted singer Jose Altuve (though we know he's got the vocal chops). It's Reggie Jackson, Mr. October himself. But even though he earned his nickname playing for the Yankees, he'll be rooting against them in this musical. Jackson plays Mr. Welch, the owner of the down-and-out Washington Senators, whose star player makes a deal with the devil to defeat the Yankees.
Lest you doubt Jackson's acting chops, please know that he was "Angel Right Fielder" in "The Naked Gun," and he had cameos on "The Love Boat" and "Diff'rent Strokes." He was even on an episode of MacGyver! (And it sounds incredible.)
