On Thursday, the Red Sox announced that they would honor four players in their 2018 Hall of Fame class, including recent greats Kevin Youkilis, Mike Lowell and Derek Lowe. Youkilis was definitely thrilled by the news:
Youkilis won the support of countless Red Sox fans over the course of his nine years in Boston, during which time he made three All-Star teams and earned a pair of World Series rings in 2004 and '07. The Fenway Park faithful loved him so much that one time, they decided to start singing an edited version of Biz Markie's "Just a Friend" during an at-bat (as seen in the video above).
The adulation is great, but Youkilis knows why he's truly remembered.
Exactly. It's all about the plunks.
