Players paid tribute to former general manager Kevin Towers
Former Padres and D-Backs general manager Kevin Towers passed away Tuesday at the age of 56 after a battle with cancer. As a general manager and long-time scout, Towers earned a reputation for having a remarkable eye for baseball talent and, as such, was instrumental in the careers of many players.
As news of his death became known Tuesday, many of those players took to Twitter to mourn and remember a figure who deeply impacted their professional lives.
Many players revisited fond memories of Towers as someone who believed in them early in their careers.
