Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams took to Twitter to recruit Shohei Ohtani to Pittsburgh
Saturday, it was reported that Shohei Ohtani and his agent had asked teams interested in the Japanese hitting and pitching phenom to submit written pitches explaining why their organizations would be a good fit. No doubt, most -- if not all -- of the 30 Major League clubs have spent the ensuing days feverishly putting together their cases.
Looking to put his team's recruiting message over the top, Pirates starter Trevor Williams published his own sales pitch on Twitter:
By focusing on Pittsburgh-specific beer, food and fun, Williams' attempt would likely receive the approval of the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce. But will this tweet have the intended effect of convincing Ohtani to become a yinzer? We'll just have to wait and see.
