This has been the summer of the barehanded fan catch. We've seen a ton already through the season's first three-plus months, from homers to mid-Snapchat fouls and everything in between, including some amusing flubs at the expense of concession-stand fare and frothy cups of beer.
During the Pirates' 5-4 win over the Phillies on Sunday, one dad who really knew what he was doing added a new installment to the collection. Elias Diaz slapped a foul over the first-base dugout, setting up this textbook display of how to do things well:
