Photo of the Day: Canberra Cavalry of the ABL celebrated the holidays with Christmas jerseys

Lots of Minor League teams host Christmas in July promotions, complete with Santas in Hawaiian shirts, stockings hung with care and special jerseys.

But in the Australian Baseball League -- which plays during the winter months -- they can celebrate the holiday season during the holiday season. The Canberra Cavalry showed that off in the second game of their doubleheader with the rival Perth Heat on Friday. Wearing jerseys emblazoned with "Merry Christmas" on them, their festive outfits also featured snowflakes, pine trees, and Santa with his sleigh!
Here you can see Steve Kent, a Braves reliever that reached Triple-A this past season, modeling the jersey.

Unfortunately for Canberra, Santa did not arrive and give them a win. Leading, 4-2, heading into the ninth, Perth came back and eventually won, 6-4, in 11 innings.
