Hockey fan Phil Hughes tweeted about Brent Burns' goal less than two hours after proposing
Phil Hughes is a man of many interests: He likes baseball (obviously), he's dabbled as a reporter and even briefly considered a career as an artist. But, far and away, Hughes' most well-known interest has been hockey. Like, the man's obsessed.
So much so, in fact, that after Hughes announced his engagement on Friday night (congrats!!!), it took him less than two hours to go back to obsessing over hockey:
Now, we're no experts in the matter, but isn't there usually a flurry of phone calls/Skype sessions/scribing messages to send out in carrier pigeons/Facebook posts that typically follow a life event of such magnitude? Though, in Hughes' defense, Burns is having a season you can see from space. He has more goals than any other defenseman in the NHL and trails only Erik Karlsson in points. Here's his 19th of the season, which came in the first period of a loss to the Hurricanes on Friday:
