Behind-the-back passes are more often something you'd see on the basketball court. So, while the crosstown 76ers were wrapping up their first-round victory over the Miami Heat in the NBA playoffs, the Phillies' Pedro Florimón decided to pay homage.
In the top of the seventh of Philadelphia's 8-4 loss to the D-backs on Tuesday, David Peralta lashed a ground ball to the left side of the infield. Guarding the bag, Florimon had to react quickly. He dove to his left, snared the ball and then made it all look so effortlessly cool with a behind-the-back flip to start a double play:
"Take that, Ben Simmons," it says, for this assist led to two outs and not just a single bucket.
