Friday night's Giants-Reds game featured a special moment between father and son. Pat Kelly was watching his son pitch, but he was watching him from the Reds' dugout.
Pat is the Reds' bench coach, and his son, 28-year-old Casey Kelly, took the mound for the Giants. And while they didn't appear to forget the competition occurring, they did share a cute moment with one another by exchanging salutes across the field:
"I'll have the best seat in the house," Pat Kelly said before Friday's game. "Usually, I'm in the stands with a hot dog and a beer the few times I've seen him pitch."
There may be an awkward family dinner on the horizon, depending on how the game turns out, but for a moment, the two showed just how much respect they have for one another -- and it was heartwarming.
