Softball star Samantha Show has some dazzling bat flips
Earlier this year, we learned about softball slugger Samantha Show, the star of the Oklahoma State Cowgirls and a bat-flipping fiend. She's perfected the craft, whether it's doing a small little maneuver ...
... or a majestic, one-handed exultation:
Show is a master at work, and thanks to her efforts (and flips), the Cowgirls punched their ticket to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.
Their title effort began on Thursday in a game against Florida. Although the Gators were a higher seed, Show almost beat them single-handedly on the mound and at the plate.
First, Show took opposing starter Kelly Barnhill deep with one out in the first, punctuating the blast with a smooth dismissal.
Then, in the sixth, she broke a 1-1 tie by launching another bomb, this time to dead-center.
The bat flip turned out to be more of a bat slam. We loved it.
Most triumphant.
Show did her job on the mound, too. She fired a complete game and held the Gators to a single run, locking up Oklahoma State's first victory in a Women's College World Series game since 1998. She also became the first pitcher to notch a multi-homer game in the event.
That's flipping incredible.
