Watch Muhammad Ali's legendary appearance at the 2004 All-Star Game

Already in 2016, the world's lost two timeless musical icons. But on Friday night, we had to say goodbye to The Greatest: Muhammad Ali, three-time heavyweight champion and one of the most iconic figures in all of sports, passed away at age 74. 
Ali was much more than just a boxer -- he was an activist, an entertainer, a relentlessly intelligent and charismatic man. And back in 2004, despite his decades-long battle with Parkinson's disease, baseball caught a glimpse of that presence for one magical night. It was July 13, 2004, the All-Star Game at Minute Maid Park in Houston, and Ali accompanied children from the Boys & Girls Club onto the field for the first pitch. Of course, being The Champ, he got in a few jabs as well:

Every member of both All-Star rosters surrounded Ali near the mound, refusing to miss out on the chance to get a picture with him -- and of course, he obliged. Because even at 62, he lived by one rule: Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.
