Bartolo Colon tries to beat Billy Hamilton to first base in race to end all races

There have been some historic races over the years -- from Tour de Frances to Indy 500s to Cheese Rolling competitions down really steep hills.
But during the Mets' 4-3 victory over the Reds on Tuesday night, the world was finally rewarded with the race to end all races: Bartolo Colon vs. Billy Hamilton.

It's hard to tell if the 42-year-old Colon -- running at a Statcast™ calculated 14.4 mph -- would've beaten the 25-year-old Hamilton (20.1 mph) to the bag with a better throw ... but we can hope. We can dream. We can project this GIF into the sky every night before bed until some fortune-telling scientist figures it out for us.
