With the bases loaded in the top of the second inning on Monday night, the Blue Jays' Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was up to bat and hoping to be an early game hero. Maybe he'd hit a double. Perhaps a grand slam. At least something hard to get a runner in and allow his team to take a lead over the Twins.
What he got was -- well, it worked.
About 15 to 20 feet in real life, but just another clutch single in the scorebook.
