Lorenzo Cain hit a double into the gap ... of the left-field fence

When someone says that a player has doubles power or a knack for hitting the ball into the gaps, it is often seen as a bit of a backhanded compliment. Doubles power, after all, isn't home run power and an ability to hit the ball into the gaps -- if it actually is an ability at all -- is certainly inferior to hitting the ball over the wall.
During the fifth inning of Friday night's 8-6 win over the Padres, Brewers center fielder Lorenzo Cain showed off both his doubles power and a crazy ability to find gaps in the outfield ... and we intend that to convey the highest level of praise. This ability to find a gap is without match:
It's possible Cain wasn't even able to see that gap in the fence from the batter's box, but he found it anyway. Maybe it was because of some sort of gap-seeking sixth sense or just plain old luck, but either way, it was an impressive feat to behold. It's a shame it was just a double, because it was worth so much more in our hearts.
