Kevin Kiermaier somehow fouled a ball up off the ground and down onto his head

It's one of the first things we learn as a kid in science class: "What goes up, must come down." Sometimes, though, physics sees fit to teach us a lesson, just in case we might have forgotten. Such was the case for Kevin Kiermaier on Sunday.
In the bottom of the fifth inning of the Rays' game against the Yankees, Kiermaier fouled off a pitch from CC Sabathia. After bouncing off the ground, the ball spun behind home plate and up out of view, seemingly just one more in a long line of baseballs used during a big league game. And then, out of nowhere, it returned:

Just when you thought it was safe to get back in the batter's box.
