In the bottom of the fourth inning of the Rangers' 8-3 win over the Mariners on Friday at Globe Life Park, Jurickson Profar hit a popup to short right field. It looked like a routine fly ball, but it wound up being anything but routine.
Dee Strange-Gordon and Ben Gamel raced toward the ball, but neither caught it. Profar scampered to second for a bloop double, but then ... Gamel fired the ball back toward the infield. His throw was off-line, rolling into the dugout and giving Profar an extra two bases.
His otherwise-harmless popup to right field ended up a gift double and two-base error, with Profar rounding the bases having collected a typically goofy Little League home run:
As always: Put the ball in play, good (or weird) things can happen!
