Josh Harrison had pebbles stuck in his beard after a headfirst slide into home plate

Sunday was twice as nice for the Pirates, who made up for a rainout by sweeping the resulting road doubleheader from the Tigers. Josh Harrison was held hitless in the 1-0 victory in the opener, but he more than made up for it in the nightcap -- though he had to get dirty in the process.
Harrison went 3-for-5 with a double and a homer during the Pirates' 8-6 win in the second game. He scored a pair of runs as well, with the second coming in the top of the fifth. He had doubled and moved to third on a fly ball when pitcher Buck Farmer threw a pitch in the dirt that bounced away from catcher James McCann.
Thanks to a great jump and a bad throw, Harrison easily scored. His headfirst slide, however, got a little messy:

It makes for a great image, but some of those pebbles that flew into Harrison's face got stuck in his beard. They were still there when he was walking through the dugout afterward:

Worth it.
