Josh Donaldson is very, very important to the Blue Jays. The 2015 AL MVP somehow put up an even better OPS last season, and Toronto will need him anchoring the middle of its lineup if it hopes to make good on its postseason potential.
Unfortunately for Donaldson and baseball fans everywhere, however, the third baseman has been nagged by a calf injury he suffered last month. So, while the Jays wanted to get their star slugger some swings during a Minor League Spring Training game, they penciled him in the lineup with specific instructions: Whatever you do, don't run the bases.
Which is why, when Donaldson crushed a homer to left field, he celebrated by ... just calmly walking back to the dugout:
On the plus side, this could also double as a truly excellent mic drop.
