Jose Abreu used a spray bottle to keep his teammates cool in the dugout

White Sox slugger José Abreu usually plays first base, but sometimes he slots in at DH when he needs a rest from the rigors of playing defense. On those occasions, he has some extra time on his hands and, in his fifth year in the Majors, he's still trying to figure out how to make the best use of it.
On an 87-degree afternoon game against the Royals on Sunday, he found a way to contribute to his team's cause from the dugout: With a spray bottle of water.
He started out by making sure third-base coach Nick Capra's hair looked good despite wearing a helmet all day: 

And, with the warm conditions at Guaranteed Rate Field, Abreu helped keep his teammates cool with a refreshing mist:

Even though he may have undertaken these efforts to discourage Rick Renteria from putting him the DH slot again, Abreu's exploits may well have gone a long way to keeping his teammates fresh on a warm afternoon as they hung 10 runs on the Royals. Strangely enough, this performance might just lead to Renteria putting his slugger at DH more often.
