Celebrity fans John Cusack and CM Punk hosted CSN Chicago's parade coverage
Every local affiliated Chicago television station, not to mention every major radio station, had a remote broadcast live at Grant Park Friday to take part in and preview the Cubs' World Series victory parade/rally.
Actor John Cusack and CM Punk, the colorful former WWE champion, share a love of Chicago and the love of the Cubs as qualifications to host CSN Chicago's parade coverage.
"The thing about Chicago fans, if I ever go out (die), they'll say I'm going to go out loving the Cubs," said Cusack during his broadcast on CSN. "I'm going to go out but pass it to the next generation.
"There's something very unique happening here. Our hearts have been sort of broken but they grow back even stronger. We just love this team. We love the players and the players love the city. There's something very unique here."
The Cubs' comeback from a 3-1 deficit to win their first World Series in over a century is the perfect source material for a Hollywood film -- complete with celebratory celebrity fans including Bill Murray, Eddie Vedder, Cusack and Punk.
"In a weird way, I hope not," Cusack said about a possible movie on the Cubs' season. "Because the real thing is a much better version. It's much better. If you tried to capture it, you just couldn't."
