We've seen several different kinds of glove flips from second basemen over the years. These kinds of plays are always aesthetically pleasing -- they just look so slick, whether it's Chase Utley making a smooth flip ...
... or Brian Dozier getting it done in a scramble:
On Friday night, the Rays' Joey Wendle added his own spin on the flip with this terrific quick turn on a grounder by Justin Bour:
Wendle had very little time to flick his glove, so he had to put some real force behind the throw, and it was perfect. Jake Bauers made a nice snatch out of the air to catch the ball for the out, too.
Just another chapter of defensive mastery at second.
