The Nationals turned to Jeremy Hellickson for the start on Tuesday night against the Padres, and they had to feel pretty confident. He's been a pleasant surprise early on in 2018, notching a 2.20 ERA in six starts.
The trend continued for Hellickson, who further lowered his ERA by allowing just one run in 5 1/3 innings, though he did have to leave with a blister. Still, with such good vibes going for him, maybe we shouldn't be surprised at the ease with which he made the catch on a line drive right back to him from Freddy Galvis in the second:
Hellickson grabbed it as though he was just taking some milk out of the fridge -- never mind that Galvis hit it 99.3 mph off the bat.
Ho-hum, right? It's not even the first time in 2018 that Hellickson has handled a comebacker so smoothly:

He must have been a big Cliff Lee fan.
