Jeff Samardzija had to chuckle at an extremely wild pitch in the middle of his shutout
Jeff Samardzija was masterful during the Giants' 3-0 victory over the Padres on Monday night. He went the distance for his fourth career shutout and first in a Giants uniform, blanking the Padres on just three hits.
Not every pitch was perfect, however. In fact, one offering to Yangervis Solarte with two outs in the seventh was straight out of "Major League":
Even Samardzija had to chuckle at this exceptionally wild pitch.
The view from behind home plate was even better:
Yeah, catcher Nick Hundley never had a chance.
But hey, when you're pitching like this for the rest of the game, you can afford to chuck a few wild ones. The Padres simply had no answer for the Shark.
