It was another day, another Javier Baez play on Sunday, when the Cubs defeated the Reds, 6-1. Yu Darvish snagged his first win in a Cubbies uniform and his teammates assisted with the bats, hitting three homers. But let's get back to this Baez play ...
In the bottom of the fifth, Baez made a sliding stop on a Joey Votto grounder up the middle, touched second with his glove, then pushed off the base with his foot and threw it to first for a double play:

The bag assisted him in the event, but it could have been him essentially making an extra effort to ensure the out against Alex Blandino had occurred.
