Jacob deGrom already strikes out a ton of batters. He finished second in the league in K's last year and was fourth in the NL entering the Padres-Mets game on Thursday.
And that's fine. That's good for him that he can do these things. But that doesn't mean he should also start deconstructing the souls of batters, too.
That's Francisco Mejia, who somehow gathered himself after this and got two hits against the reigning Cy Young Award winner. Chumbawamba would be proud.
