There's a new 'Mr. October' in town, and his name is Roberto Perez

After just 160 regular-season games over three seasons, Indians backup catcher Roberto Pérez got the start in his first postseason against the Red Sox in ALDS Game 1 on Thursday. He had to be nervous. Who wouldn't be? The Indians hadn't won a World Series in 68 years, that's a lot of pressu --

Yes, that was a homer in Perez's first postseason at-bat -- the first time a Cleveland player has done so in history.
After hitting a single in the 5th (the hardest ball he's hit all year), the catcher executed the very rare tag up to second base on a fly ball to left field. He would later score his team's 5th, and deciding, run on a Jason Kipnis single. Watch it in all its catcher hustle glory below: 

Oh, and on defense, Perez made a fantastic tag on Brock Holt in the first inning -- saving a run in a game they won by just a run.
