Friday's Google Doodle pays homage to the legendary Roberto Clemente

October may be known for the postseason, but it's also National Hispanic Heritage Month, and Google's homepage doodle on Friday, Oct. 12, found a way to celebrate both: an illustration of Puerto Rican icon Roberto Clemente, the first Latino player to make the Baseball Hall of Fame.

It's hard to think of a more fitting choice than Clemente. He was a titan off the field, making frequent humanitarian visits to his homeland and around the Caribbean -- there's a reason that MLB named an award after him. We do have an alternative artwork suggestion, though:
