Giancarlo Stanton will rep the United States in the World Baseball Classic, and he's stoked about it

The 2017 World Baseball Classic is coming up in March, again pitting the world's premier baseball talent against each other in a battle for global diamond domination.
Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton, one of the game's most ridiculous sluggers, will suit up in the red, white and blue for this spring's WBC, which includes some games at Marlins Park on March 9-13 as well as the semifinal and championship games at Dodger Stadium on March 20 and 21.

Stanton joins his Miami teammate Christian Yelich on the expected Team USA roster, which will also include players such as Eric Hosmer, Paul Goldschmidt, Adam Jones, Andrew McCutchen, Buster Posey, Nolan Arenado, Chris Archer, Andrew Miller and Daniel Murphy, to name a few.
It was Stanton, you may recall, who sent a pitch deep into orbit at Dodger Stadium once before, launching a mammoth homer that sailed over the Left Field Pavilion in 2015:

An equal-opportunity ball-masher, Stanton also annihilates baseballs at his home park in Miami on a regular basis, so there's no reason to assume this won't continue during the WBC.
Thankfully for the Team USA pitching staff, he'll once again be doing it on their behalf.
