The Astros prepared for their final game of the season at Minute Maid Park by bringing two of their most famous citizens to the field for the ceremonial first pitch before their 13-12 win in Game 5 of the World Series. George W. Bush threw out the first pitch, accompanied by father and fellow former president George H.W. Bush.
Houston knew it had experience on its side with the first pitch selection, as the younger Bush is believed to have the most among living presidents with nine, just a little bit ahead of his father, who had six.
The younger Bush may have handled several first pitches before, but this isn't even his first time to the rodeo with the Fall Classic. Back in 2001, he delivered a memorable moment at the old Yankee Stadium before Game 3 with a strike:
That was the only time Bush threw a Fall Classic first pitch during his administration, but when the team he once owned, the Rangers, made it to the World Series, duty called again. He handled the honors at Game 4 in 2010 ...
... and again at Game 4 at in 2011.
At this point, World Series first pitches are simply old hat for the former president.
