Although the A's lost to the Angels, 2-1, on Friday, they made it a memorable night for the fans anyway. Yes, they unveiled their 50th anniversary team and Coco Crisp did the Bernie, but there was also an unusual souvenir.
In the top of the fifth, Chris Young was up to bat for the Angels. Young hit a high, foul pop-up back behind the plate in section 115. Several fans reached for it ...
... but none caught it. Instead, it went straight into a drink, splashing everyone around it with suds.
The story had a happy ending, though, as a kid who was near the splash was more than happy to keep the foul ball anyway:
Can't knock a free souvenir.
