Well before working together in Oakland, a young Danny Valencia met Marlins prospect Mark Kotsay

Social media provides everyone the chance to see things they otherwise would be unable to see. For professional athletes, that reaches a whole new level if and when family members dig through old photos and memorabilia from yesteryear.
Enter Mindy Valencia, mother of A's slugger (and Miami native) Danny Valencia. Way back when, sometime in the late 1990s, he and some pals secured a photo-op with a young Marlins prospect named Mark Kotsay. 
Flash-forward to 2016, and Valencia and Kotsay (Bob Melvin's bench coach) are both employed by the A's, and work together every day ... making this image truly come full circle: 

As of Wednesday afternoon, however, it does not seem as if Kotsay is aware of/has been shown this rather amazing snapshot from shortly after the Marlins selected him with the ninth pick of the 1996 MLB Draft.
This was her reply when asked if Valencia had shown it to Kotsay yet:

Here's hoping he does at some point, since it's significant evergreen #TBT material.
