What was it like the last time the Cubs won the World Series? Sure, you could search for one of the many lists out there and recite the same old facts about 1908: The Ottoman Empire still existed, there were only 46 states in the Union, etc., etc.
Or you could just ask someone who was there. Why not spend some quality time with a couple of players from the '08 team, who showed up at Tuesday night's 3-0 win over the Pirates? Just a warning -- they appear to have been awakened from the dead, "Monkey's Paw"- style.
They could probably tell you a lot of great stories. Just make sure you're wearing a helmet when you hang out them, lest they come for your BRAAAAAAAAINS.
