You can't knock the enthusiasm of Max Scherzer rushing out of the dugout to celebrate a win an inning early

If you read this, Max Scherzer, don't worry about it. I totally understand where you were coming from.
In the eighth inning of the Nats' 5-2 win over the Royals on Sunday afternoon, Adam Eaton scored the go-ahead run on a double by Anthony Rendon. Eaton scored the run by blazing around the bases to give the Nats a 3-2 lead, showing off some serious speed in the process:
BUT. There's a "but" in this story, and it's great. Watching the play unfold, Scherzer bolted from the Nats dugout to celebrate the run, because he thought it was the ninth inning and thus a walk-off. But it was the eighth inning.
Oops!
Can you really blame Scherzer for this, though? He just pitched a gem on Saturday, the Nats are riding high as they head into the All-Star break and he now gets to enjoy a few days as an All-Star in Cleveland (though he won't partake in the game, due to a back issue).
The man is the picture of excitement at the moment, and that's before even mentioning that he and his wife welcomed a daughter into the world just a few days ago:
So ... yeah. The man has reasons to be excited, and they all worked together to push him over the top on Sunday.
Never change, Max.
