I'm not sure about your high school experience, but mine was mostly filled with pimple anxiety and trying to Ferris Bueller my way out of class. But Elijah Cabell is having a bit better time as he's literally bashing baseballs off the Marlins home run sculpture.
Cabell, a third baseman/outfielder at TNXL Academy, was competing in the High School Home Run Derby at Marlins Park before the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Saturday when he pulled off the feat that not many big leaguers can even pull off:
That's not off the base of the sculpture, either, but way up the side. Unfortunately for Cabell, he was unable to advance to the finals which will take place before Monday's T-Mobile Home Run Derby. High school finalists Noah Naylor and Nolan Gorman will square off for the title.
