Eduardo Núñez struck out so hard he snapped his necklace

There is no longer a stigma to striking out in the big leagues. Teams and players have mutually agreed that the benefit of swinging for hard liners is worth the tradeoff for whiffs. However, there may be one kind of strikeout that players might still find embarrassing: The ones where you swing and miss so hard, your jewelry breaks.
Eduardo Núñez had that particular shame befall him when he struck out on Chaz Roe's biting slider during the Red Sox's 2-0 loss to the Rays on Sunday. To make matters even worse, before he went back to the dugout, he had to stand in the batter's box assembling his broken necklace.
The only thing worse could be dropping a batting glove in the dugout toilet.
