Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday, which meant he was not allowed inside Oracle Arena come game time. But his team was one game away from winning the championship and if the Warriors had won (they didn't), ESPN reported that he could've joined in for the celebration. So, Green watched the game from the next best place: Oakland Coliseum, right next door.
Yes, that is Oakland native Marshawn Lynch and Warriors GM Bob Myers in the suite with him.
While we're sure he was understandably distraught at missing one of the most important games of his season, he probably found solace in the fact that he got to watch the A's host the Rangers just an hour after the Warriors tip off. Fans were also happy to see him there:
And he ended up seeing a big 14-5 A's win. Oakland rattled off 17 hits and a four-run third inning -- highlighted by this Krush Davis home run:
So, sure, he didn't play in what could've been the deciding game of the NBA Finals, but at least Green got to watch an exciting game.
