The Dodgers acquired reliever Erik Goeddel just one day after signing his brother, Tyler

The Dodgers made a small move on Thursday, as they claimed right-handed pitcher Erik Goeddel off waivers from the Mariners. The 29-year-old made five appearances with Seattle in 2018, but he's most known for his four years pitching out of the Mets' bullpen from 2014-17.

This would appear to be an unremarkable transaction at first, but what made it intriguing is that the Dodgers had already acquired a different Goeddel a day prior -- Erik's younger brother, Tyler.
Tyler Goeddel has been a big leaguer too: He played 92 games with the 2016 Phillies, when he showed off a nice arm in the outfield.

The two Goeddels were division rivals in 2016, but they never had a chance to face each other.
Now, they find themselves in the same organization, allowing them to be in the same fraternity of teammate brothers as the Alomars, the Boones, the Ripkens and the Alous (just to name a few). Only time will tell if they will both be Dodgers.
