Thanks to the Padres, David Ortiz now has a giant, David Ortiz-adorned surfboard

The David Ortiz farewell tour landed in San Diego this week with the Red Sox taking on the Padres in a three-game set. And just as Chipper Jones was gifted a surfboard during his final foray to Petco Park, before Wednesday's finale, Big Papi was also given a (very enormous) wave rider:
We're guessing he'll never mix up his board with anybody else's.
The beach party continued mid-game -- when Papi and Dustin Pedroia auditioned for the 2020 Olympics volleyball team:
MLB.com's Ian Browne talked to the slugger about the ceremony after the game:
"It was great. There's all this appreciation. The San Diego Padres took their time to honor me and what I've accomplished in my career. It's a real honor."
Ever been surfing?
"No, but I will now."
You'll use the surfboard?
"Oh yeah, trust me."
Fun times. Let's hope that someday in the future we see Ortiz and Chipper catching waves side-by-side in Southern California using their new presents.
