The D-backs dressed up as their favorite 'SNL' characters for their road trip to New York

Like a lot of teams, the D-backs have gotten in the habit of dressing up in costume whenever they head out on a road trip. Often, the get-ups are related to their destination: swimsuits for a flight to L.A., for example, or astronaut gear in preparation for playing the Astros. With the team set to head for New York City for a three-game set against the Mets this weekend, of course their outfits were Big Apple-appropriate -- and what's more Big Apple than Saturday Night Live?

Yes, each member of the team dressed up as their favorite SNL character, and the results were predictably outstanding. You can view the whole photo set right here, but some highlights include:
Daniel Descalso and Mark Reed as Wayne and Garth from "Wayne's World":

Ketel Marte and Mike Butcher as the Spartan Cheerleaders:

Patrick Corbin, Paul Goldschmidt, Chris Owings and Nick Ahmed as Blue Oyster Cult (complete with cowbell):

And, last but not least, Torey Lovullo doing his best "Blues Brothers" impression:
