Christian Yelich wore some sweet socks in support of Giannis Antetokounmpo's MVP candidacy
In 2018, Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich took home the National League MVP Award after leading his team to an NL Central title and a trip to the NLCS.
While Yelich obviously wants to repeat his performance in the upcoming season, he's also focused on helping out his neighbors in Milwaukee. He's also throwing his weight behind Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo as the Greek Freak vies for an MVP award of his own:
Yelich's MVP candidacy received backing outside baseball with Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield supporting the outfielder last fall. Perhaps Yelich is paying that forward.
With the Bucks leading the Eastern Conference with the best record in the NBA, it's not clear that Giannis needs much help to secure the MVP Award at this point. Still, it can't hurt to have the National League's MVP advocating for your candidacy. Hopefully the voters take Yelich's expert testimony into account.
