After doing a bit of everything on the field, Carlos Martinez needed a little help catching his breath

Carlos Martínez hit his first double of the season on Monday, driving in a pair of runs in the fourth inning of the Cardinals' 5-3 win over the Rockies. He then sprinted from second to home on Matt Carpenter's RBI single, scoring St. Louis' fifth run of the game. He did all of this after getting hit in the leg by a pitch in the third inning, going on to pick up his 15th win of the season. And this was all in the thin air of Coors Field.
So yeah, by the time he got back to the dugout on that Carpenter RBI, he was pretty winded.
Hey, sometimes you just need a little extra help to catch your breath. Considering Martinez came up big on the mound and at the plate to lead the Cardinals to victory -- which put them in a tie for the second NL Wild Card -- we say he earned as much of the free breathing stuff as he wants.
