Carlos Gomez should earn an award for most dramatic performance after being HBP
Carlos Gómez deserves an award. And no, not the two All-Star selections or the Gold Glove Award he received in the past, but perhaps an Oscar for this fantastic, dramatic performance in a fictional sports drama.
In the bottom of the sixth inning during the White Sox 2-1 win over the Rays on Saturday, Carlos Rodón threw an inside pitch to Gomez. The 96-mph fastball hit Gomez in his side and he fell to the ground -- but not without a little bit of drama first:
He was all smiles after his fake fall. The broadcasters called it "outstanding," and we couldn't agree more.
We cannot wait to see him accept his big award on the red carpet.
