It didn't take long for Carlos Correa to make his presence known once again after being activated from the disabled list on Friday. Thanks to some assistance from Marwin Gonzalez, the Astros infielder showcased one of the best double plays you may witness this season.
In the top of the eighth inning during the Mariners' 4-3 win over the Astros on Sunday, Jean Segura smacked a grounder up the middle. Correa made a diving stop, flipped the ball with his glove to Gonzalez who barehanded it and threw it to first for the third out of the inning. Just watch:
"Yeah, I was hype obviously," Correa said. "It's my first series back, so I want to be able to make plays behind our pitchers. Obviously it's been a while."
Wasn't that gorgeous?
Correa was out for six weeks with a lower back injury and needless to say, we are very glad to have him back.
