Cardinals fans serenaded Dexter Fowler for his birthday during his at-bat
The atmosphere and ballparks at Spring Training add a level of intimacy between players and fans that just isn't available during the regular season. Autographs are aplenty, and just about every seat is in the lower level.
Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler celebrated his 32nd birthday on Thursday and, during his team's game against the Braves, fans showed what makes Spring Training such a unique experience by singing him "Happy Birthday" when he came up to the plate. And, his wife caught the whole thing on tape:
Fowler was grateful to the fans that celebrated his birthday. "It was awesome," he told MLB.com's Joe Trezza. "It's always great when everyone knows it's your birthday. I really appreciated it."
Birthdays are at their best when they're spent with friends and family. Thanks to the fans at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, Fowler's birthday got off to a fantastic start.
