Newton's third law states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. In other words, forces always come in pairs.

On Saturday, Brett Gardner experienced a lesson in Newton's third law when, after a frustrating at-bat, he threw his helmet against the wall of the Yankee's dugout ... and his helmet came back and hit him square in the face.

We've all been there. It's frustrating whenever you suffer a narrow defeat in the heat of competition and the agony of defeat is nearly too much to bear. But, we aren't always so lucky as to get a physics lesson for our troubles.
