Kole Calhoun's grounder proved that baseballs do have minds of their own

You, as a human being, may think that you have control over most inanimate objects. Baseballs, though, have proven time and time again that they have minds of their own. They may even control us.
And during Thursday's Angels-Dodgers Spring Training matchup at Angel Stadium, Kole Calhoun hit a ball that he was sure would be foul. The baseball, on the other hand, knew it would not stay foul. It wanted to be fair. It wanted to matter in the postgame box score:
Adrián González, a wise veteran who's seen it all, expertly waited and picked up the ball to tag out the shocked-looking Calhoun. Another spring lesson to take into the ever-approaching regular season.
