Astros prospect Teoscar Hernandez's attempted throw could not overcome the force of gravity

In order for a baseball released from a player's hand to achieve flight, it must be thrown at a velocity great enough to overcome the force of gravity, and the resulting distance of said flight depends on the ball's velocity and launch angle. That's basic high school physics.
Unfortunately, that did not happen when right fielder Teoscar Hernandez attempted this throw during the Astros-Mets Spring Training matchup:
Hernandez is the Astros' No. 8-ranked prospect and according to his scouting report, he "could wind up in right field, and he has the arm strength for that position." So, it's not his arm that's the problem. It must've been an isolated bout of hyper-gravity, which is definitely a thing.
Unfortunately, there are no do-overs for those, and Lucas Duda ended up with a two-run double on the play as the Mets jumped out to a big lead.
