During the 2017 All-Star Game, Nelson Cruz set a trend by taking a selfie with home-plate umpire Joe West. So, when the 2018 festivities rolled around to Nationals Park on Tuesday, other players were determined to join the party.
When Matt Kemp hit a double in the second inning, he rolled into second base, where Manny Machado (his possible future teammate) was covering the bag -- and also the selfie game:

Not to be outdone, Cruz posted a video straight from the All-Star Game introductions line alongside his fellow Mariners: Mitch Haniger, Jean Segura and Edwin Díaz.

Charlie Blackmon didn't start the game, but that gave him the perfect opportunity to take a selfie from the bench with National League manager Dave Roberts and the Brewers' Lorenzo Cain and Jesús Aguilar:

We were watching, Charlie -- and we appreciate your style.
The Reds' Scooter Gennett chatted up Aguilar and Eugenio Suárez for some All-Star at-bat approaches and predictions:

Pitcher Luis Severino made his entrance to the game extra special by taking a selfie from the mound with Machado, José Abreu, Jose Altuve and Jose Ramirez:

Fan and MLB Celebrity Softball Game participant Bill Nye got a picture with Max Scherzer -- in a way:

Three-time All-Star Kenley Jansen welcomed newcomer and fellow Curaçao native Ozzie Albies to the show:

Finally, Mike Trout provided the perfect closure for the night after the American League's 8-6 win with a postgame selfie, accompanied by fellow phenom outfield starters Aaron Judge and Mookie Betts:
