Alex Gordon's rumbling, tumbling fall into home plate helped the Royals finally stop the Astros

Up 7-3 in the eighth inning and on the brink of winning their 12th straight game, the Astros were the victims of a ferocious Royals comeback. Kansas City put up four runs to tie things up in that inning and then two more on a Mike Moustakas walk-off dinger in the ninth. The walk-off was nice to look at, but the highlight of the night was Alex Gordon scoring on Whit Merrifield's game-tying whatever this was:
MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan talked to Gordon about the "swimming fall" postgame.
"I was thinking I might have to slide headfirst," Gordons said. "But then Moose and Cheslor were waving for me to stand up and I just started swimming. The main thing is I didn't want to miss the plate."
Wonderful.
Even the home-plate umpire couldn't help but smile.
Best run of the year.
