After his 7th-inning home run, Yasiel Puig assigned himself a curtain call

While most people who do good things -- whether at work, in the community, or at home -- aren't motivated by the recognition those acts will get from others, it is always nice to be appreciated. On the other hand, it also can hurt when one's good deeds receive less recognition than they deserve.
Yasiel Puig already made his mark on Game 1 of the National League Championship Series presented by Camping World when he knocked in the Dodgers' first run of the game on an RBI double. For good measure, he called his shot, flipped his bat and celebrated at second base. So, when he hit a dinger to give the Dodgers a 4-2 lead in the 7th inning, he probably expected to be overwhelmed by adulation.
But, when the fans didn't show Puig the love he wanted, he took it in his own hands to get the love he deserved. That's right: Puig called a curtain call for himself:

For decades, bands have been writing encores into their setlists knowing they'll play a couple extra songs at the end regardless of whether the crowd demands it. Puig just wrote a curtain call into his set list.
